Product Description
The Mayfly custom fly rod was a design I came up with last year. It was something that Mitch and I came up with when he was looking for a special rod as a gift for a friend of his. Later that week another customer called and asked about a special fly rod just for his wife. He wanted the the rod to be a faster action and very very light weight.
The Mayfly comes standard with a Silver reel seat, with tulip wood insert. The Mayfly is engraved and etched on the butt cap, reel seat wood and also the case cap. The handle is a flor grade cork grip in a western shape. Guide are nitonol, or Nickel Titanium... also known as Recoil Flexible guides. These guides are more than 50% lighter than standard guides.
The Action of the rod is a stiff crisp fast action.
We then trim the rod case out with black on black with a paisley rod bag and leather strap.
This rod is beautiful in every way. It is true to the JP Ross Philosophy of being a working piece of art.
Normally this rod would be over $500.00 if all these attributes were selected separately.
